You get lost in a maze. A labyrinth is where you find yourself... Labyrinths are ancient patterns found all over the world. They are of many types sharing a single overall design. Their origin is as mysterious and their uses are as varied as their patterns are. The labyrinth pattern had no particular start that we know of. It is an archetype in the human mind. Labyrinth patterns are universal, The earliest reported labyrinth was a two-story stone building in Egypt. In the Middle Ages, walking a cathedral labyrinth was a substitute for going on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem. Today meandering labyrinths are often used as walking meditations, to focus the mind and put the walker in tune with the greater reality metaphorically represented by the labyrinth. Passing to the center of the labyrinth and returning to its circumference represents the involution and evolution of the universe, the coming into birth and the passing out of earthly life of an individual, and--most important--a journey into the center of our own being, the achievement there of a quest for wholeness, and the subsequent return to our divine source. Let's reunite our community circle, as we come back together for the first time in months for the purpose of healing! We will be meeting at a sacred spot in nature that will be shared once you have registered for this workshop. For the first part of the event, you will be guided through a forest hike near water, where you will be left to explore, meditate, journal, and connect with the Spirits of the Trees, Animal Totems, and Elementals. This will be a wonderful opportunity to experience the beauty of nature. In the second part of this event, we will be walking the labyrinth as a group for the intention of healing ourselves, and the planet. Upon reaching the center, you will receive a blessing of the four elements by Jeremy. We will conclude the event with a meditation and drum circle. Please bring a rattle, drum, or other sound healing instrument of your choice. Also, water, a journal, writing utensil, and any crystals, incense, or flowers that you feel called to bring.
