Starting this Friday we will be starting a Novena to Our Lady of Guadalupe that will conclude on August 31st. A novena is an ancient tradition of devotional praying, consisting of private or public prayers repeated for nine successive days. During this time we will be saying prayers to Our Lady for the healing of Mother Earth. We will be asking for changes and transformation. We will be asking for all roads to good and positive beginnings be opened. We will be asking for forgiveness for any harm we have caused, knowingly or unknowingly. We will be giving gratitude for all that we have and are blessed with; the food on our table, the roof over our heads, the water we need. We will be lifting up each other in prayer. Our mothers and fathers. Our sisters and brothers. Our children. Our elders. Our wonderful pets. We will ask for all of this with love.Feel free to gather any candles, flowers, incense, crystals, images or statues. Create an altar or sacred space that fits for you. Every day, for nine days, go to this sacred space, light your candles, incense, etc. Sit in front of it and take deep breaths. You may choose to say a rosary or mala beads of your choosing. The prayers are for you to choose.
