SUMMARY:Introduction to Intuitive Art Workshop
DESCRIPTION:We may not think of ourselves as an artist\, but we are born creatives. The first creative inclination was our attraction to color and different shapes and scribbling became our first attempt to express our creativity. This workshop is a journey back to that time when we were open to experimenting and discovering. Using abstract scribbling and simple art materials\, let us find what is hidden away within us in this journey of self-discovery. Brickler – Artist\, Art Educator\, Author\, and Art Materials Consultant \nEd is the author of a book: Making Art – Materials and Techniques for Today’s Artist\, published by North Light (F+W Media). I am currently semi-retired but still working as a Technical Consultant for Chartpak Inc.\, a family of art material companies. Ed is also a working artist and has been an art materials consultant teaching materials and techniques for over 35 years. Ed has lectured on drawing and painting materials and methods for art schools all over North America and in Europe and conducts workshops on color mixing\, pen & ink\, painting\, drawing\, paper evolution\, experimental art\, and composition. \nHe has published articles in The Artist’s Magazine\, Watercolor Magic\, Art Materials Today\, Island Arts Magazine\, was contributing editor for Palette Talk\, and has been acknowledged in more than a dozen art books for his contributions. DESCRIPTION:In Honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe and the Holy Child of Remedy. \nThis year\, our Fourth Annual Novena is dedicated to the sacred bond between Our Lady of Guadalupe\, the universal mother\, and the Holy Child of Remedy\, the embodiment of innocence\, hope\, and divine love. Together\, they represent a powerful symbol of healing\, unity\, and renewal – qualities that our world so desperately needs today. \nThe Holy Child of Remedy: A Sacred Legacy \nThis year’s novena also features the Holy Child of Remedy\, a miraculous and historic statue from Madrid\, Spain\, dating back to 1902. For forty years\, this sacred image was venerated in the chapel where it was originally housed. After the rediscovery of the original Holy Child of Remedy statue\, this particular one was entrusted to the care of the nuns\, who lovingly preserved it for decades. \nWhen unforeseen roof damage to their convent left in them in urgent need of funds\, a man who restores religious statues acquired the Holy Child to assist the sisters. Though he did not initially intend to sell it\, after much discernment\, he allowed me to acquire this cherished image. Now entrusted to our community\, it will be blessed and dedicated during the novena. \nKnown for inspiring miracles and healing\, the Holy Child of Remedy has brought countless faithful comfort and grace in times of trial. This devotion serves as a reminder of divine care and the profound hope that sustains us\, offering strength and solace to those seeking healing – whether physical\, emotional\, or spiritual. \nA Novena for Peace\, Healing\, and Unity \nThis nine-day journey of prayer and reflection invites us to come together\, lifting our hearts to pray for a better world: \nFor peace in our hearts\, families\, and nations. \nFor healing of those who are suffering in body\, mind\, and spirit. \nFor unity to strengthen our bonds with one another and create harmony in our world. \nWhat is a Novena? \nA novena is a sacred practice of prayer and meditation over nine days\, rooted in ancient spiritual traditions.
